Purpose:
The primary responsibilities, actions and outputs include:
Provide daily support for the Enterprise System Managements
infrastructure which includes the following:
- Monitoring, installation, maintenance, and deployment of agent
technology that provides health and performance status of computer
platform systems on UNIX and Windows based processors.
- Perform alert message integration with International Paper's CA
Unicenter Service Desk ticketing system.
- Development and maintenance of custom administrative scripts written
using Perl.
- Development and maintenance of custom monitoring solutions.
- Support for CA Workload (deployment and break-fix)
- Support Performance management and reporting.
- Deployment and support for CA-Spectrum and CA-eHealth
Key Accountabilities:
- Customer focus - must be able to listen and analyze customer
requirements then work with team members to implement the customer's
solution.

systems management.

and solutions for systems management.

Key Challenges:
- The external environment, including technology, competition, markets:
1. The challenge will be establishing, communicating and maintaining
unified processes across the IP IT organization. Sustaining adequate
layers of communications throughout the businesses and IT to ensure
processes are consistent (technologically) and strategic across the
enterprise, to ensure the IP Enterprise is properly focused and aligned
in a very competitive environment.
- The internal environment, including interaction with others, (both
inside and outside the company) policies/practices:
- Identifying, establishing and sustaining quality relationships at the
right business levels.
- Establish strong working relationships with other support groups and
customers.
- Work to create a vendor neutral environment that is solution focused.
- Provide support for infrastructure on a 24X7 basis with support
rotation within the group.
- Document processes and procedures for use internal and external to
the ESM group.

- Establishing a vendor neutral management environment for the
enterprise.
- Selecting cost effective management solutions.
- Learning and deployment of new technologies.
- Integration of new solutions with existing infrastructure.
Scope:
- This position provides Enterprise System Management for applications
that reside on the UNIX and Windows operating platforms.
- Solutions supported by this position include: system monitoring,
performance monitoring, workload scheduling, SLA monitoring, and network
device monitoring.
- This position will create customized monitoring solutions when
currently supported vendor products do not meet the needs of the
customer.
- This position will support the goals and objectives of the Enterprise
Large System Services.
