Position Overview:
This position is for a Product Manager within the U.S. Domestic Residential Products team. The U.S. Domestic Residential Products Team manages a small package product set that includes: FedEx Express (Residential deliveries), FedEx Home Delivery, and FedEx Smart Post. This Product Manager will provide management of transportation service features for the assigned product. He / she will develop annual product plans to achieve business plan objectives, then execute and monitor tactics. Successful Product Managers must be able to analyze product performance, both for the product in total and based on execution of tactics. He / she will provide technical expertise and consultative services for a variety of functional areas whose activities affect product performance.
As part of this role, the successful candidate will:
* Provide product management support and strategic insight for U.S. Domestic Residential Products. * Develop and support product plan execution through analysis, presentation and implementation of tactics. * Prepare market definition through competitive analysis, performance history and trend data. * Identify and report on key metrics in the product life cycle. * Balance short and long term planning and execution to meet corporate strategic objectives. * Actively engage with Customers, Sales, Operations, and Information Technology to identify future service opportunities. * Support the synthesis and implementation of services strategy including development of all elements of the marketing mix; product improvement, positioning, pricing and go-to-market plans. * Translate customer needs into business requirements and service definitions and supported by appropriate business justification and financial business case. * Assume project support roles, participate in cross-functional teams and communicate to internal and external audiences to ensure programs are executed in a timely manner.
Preferred skills include: * Ability to gather, interpret and integrate financial, operating and competitor data into a coordinated product plan through the use of research and advanced data mining tools. * Strong analytical and economic and decision support modeling capabilities. * Ability to support cross-functional teams. * Ability to coordinate numerous tactics simultaneously in a fast-paced team environment that deliver results. * Strong project management skills. * Strong presentation preparation and delivery skills at any level in the organization. * Ability to organize, adapt, remain flexible and self-motivate. * MBA degree preferred. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in marketing, communications or related business discipline. Typically has more than 5 years work experience in marketing, sales, sales administration or related discipline. Demonstrated knowledge of marketing disciplines and information analysis. Experience in database marketing, telemarketing, promotions, pricing, and financial analysis preferred. Strong human relations, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
