A DDS senior software engineer (SSE) primary job function is to develop software based on supplied specifications with limited supervision. If the specifications were "high level" in nature, the SSE would be required to perform systems analysis and design prior to any software development. Within DDS, a SSE is also responsible for debugging and enhancing existing systems, software and system testing, monitoring of the production systems and interaction with both internal and external customers. A SSE also works closely with the network and technology staff members to insure seamless integration of the "in house" software to the system software and hardware.
