Title: SENIOR SUPERVISOR OPERATIONS Location: Tennessee-Memphis Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Senior Supervisor, Operations, located in Memphis, TN.
Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Inc. provides account management and customer support services to key health care customers, including hospital systems and group purchasing organizations, leading health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, and government health care institutions. The company also provides contract management, logistics and supply chain functions for the major Johnson & Johnson franchises.
The Senior Supervisor, Operations will be responsible for support operations for multiple franchises within the Memphis Logistics Center (MLC). This position will handle a portion of the distribution process from product receipt to order processing to shipment of Johnson & Johnson Medical Device & Diagnostics products in an automated Distribution Center environment. This individual will work to attain the Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems Distribution Center goals and objectives, including people development, safety, quality, customer service and cost. Support the achievement of customer expectations and operating company service level agreements, while managing within the operational budget and ensure areas meet safety, quality and environmental compliance practices. Establish and maintain departmental specific procedures. Understand, participate and or implement Process Excellence methods to include LEAN and Six Sigma. Participate in investigation/corrective action efforts during distribution interruption circumstances. Lead non conformance and CAPA investigations and corrective actions for area. Conduct and participate in routine audits of the distribution area for cGMP, ISO, Safety, and Environmental compliance and lead and or participate in corrective action implementation. Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area. Set standards for safe behavior. Initiate and lead quality and cost improvement efforts. Lead, manage, motivate and develop teams to meet customer demands, cycle time objectives, and other job result objectives. Provide leadership to meet the challenges of diversity to move the process forward. Establish and maintain systems requirements for inventory accuracy in the distribution center, enterprise resource platform, and material resource planning software, warehouse management systems, cost accounting system and order management systems as required. Utilize motivational strategies and the performance management system to ensure distribution associates are meeting required performance levels. Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, counseling, supervision, direction and feedback to team members. This individual will conduct and deliver performance appraisals for team members. Serve as a model, peer mentor and leader for supervisory team to include driving consistent application of processes and policies, implementing best practices, and process improvements.
The Senior Supervisor, Operations will also be responsible for managing the Kronos Time and Attendance System and all associated tasks for all wage associates in their business unit. As necessary, perform approval procedure for pay period close in the absence of the Business Unit Manager(s) and conducts audit of timecards prior to bi-weekly pay close to ensure completeness for transmission to payroll. Perform pay period close of time cards to make adjustments to the system for compliance and accuracy and provide trending, tracking and issue resolution for Kronos.
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics, Operations or a related field is required. A minimum of 6 years of experience working in Logistics, Operations or a related field or 3 years related experience with an advanced degree (MS or MBA) is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience managing people, including experience conducting and delivering performance appraisals, is required. Experience in a cold chain warehouse/distribution environment preferred. Experience in inventory management, including managing cycle counts, maintaining inventory records and performing inventory adjustments are preferred. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (i.e. MARC Global) is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. Experience performing analyses on processes to develop and implement improvement initiatives is strongly preferred. Experience with Ariba Procurement System is preferred. Experience with Materials Resource Planning (MRP) Systems is preferred. Experience with SAP is preferred. Experience applying Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, training and/or certification preferred. Experience working in an Automated Distribution Center environment is preferred. APICS certification preferred. Knowledge of Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements is preferred. Prior experience working in a real-time/fast-paced environment required. Must have strong leadership, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills. Must have excellent collaboration, customer service and oral/written communication skills. Experience partnering with all levels of management in a cross-functional team environment is required. Must be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. The ability to work in a refrigerated environment at 2 to 8 C (35 to 46 F) for 2 hours or more at a time and in a freezer at -30 to -20 C (-4 to -22 F) for up to 1 hour at a time is required.
