Description The Business Analyst/Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be a key member of the Enterprise Information management team at First Tennessee Bank. The primary responsibility for this position is the Enterprise Information Management data warehouse/business intelligence development and support. Additional duties, responsibilities and project assignments will be given according to skills and experience. The Business Analyst/SME shares the responsibility of defining and understanding business requirements with the team and functional business users consistent with the strategic direction of First Tennessee. The EIM Information Delivery Managers will rely on this person to understand the business needs, support those needs within the departmental process, and verify that the database is functioning as expected. As plans for the business evolves (including new process requirements, integration of acquisitions, or removal of divestitures), the Business Analyst/SME must support the impact of the change by participating in development a plan to implement the change and implementation of the change through the database to insure seamless integration within the functional business organizations. As part of the integration process, effective communication and education of the organizational and system impacts of such changes is crucial. A critical element of this process will be coordination with the Project or Program Manager and Enterprise Technology to identify and include all areas affected by the requirements.
The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:
. Develops, manages, and updates data models, including physical and logical models of the data warehouse, data mart(s), staging area, and source systems (as necessary).
. Evolves models to meet new and changing business requirements.
. Coordinates new data development, ensuring consistency and integration with existing data warehouse structure
. Assists with the implementation of dimensional models
. Provides technical guidance and direction in defining the project/system level information technology and data architecture strategy.
. Ensures consistent use of information architecture standards, including influencing decisions across the enterprise related to data
. Identifies and researches changes in information technology related to data
. Serve as an advocate towards ensuring that the applications and projects align with Enterprise Data architecture goals.
. Create and review standard data deliverables, ensuring adherence to defined standards and definitions.
. Collecting business knowledge from domain experts, resolving data and business inconsistencies, and assisting with converting business knowledge into a consolidated data model.
. Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and operation engineers to promote best practices
. Provide support in the use of enterprise data, including guidance in understanding and exploitation of the underlying data and business models, and identifying optimal data sourcing and mapping
. Assists in developing and publishing data management standards, policies and procedures, including the management and maintenance of related tools and environments
. Provides coaching and knowledge transfer to other team members
Requirements Required:
. 3+ years of experience in developing code to pull data from DB2 tables, ORACLE database, SQL Server, etc.
. Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, MIS or related area
. Demonstrated senior level capabilities in conceptual analysis, problem solving, and data analysis
. Strong working knowledge of SQL and experience in modeling with XML Types, XML DB, .
. Experience and good understanding in SOA architecture
. Strong experience in data warehousing, analytic reporting and ETL architecture
. A solid understanding of SOA technologies, tools, and governance
. Strong SDLC knowledge, with excellent process and system documentation skills
. Experience coordinating information requirements of multiple projects, including assessment of usefulness, reliability and cleanliness of data from several sources
. Ability to effectively present complex technical information to non-technical audiences and to senior decision-makers.

. 3+ years of proven requirements analysis experience
. History of attention to detail and self-motivation
. Communicates risk, issues, assumptions, timelines and concerns to the management team.
. Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of data warehouse
. Provides comprehensive technical project management for various initiatives which are being implemented for internal and external customers
. Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with data warehouse users and business analysts, members of the Information Technology team, and external vendors.
. Works with extended team to get work completed for multiple projects based on the overall mutually agreed timelines
. Provides inputs as appropriate in web development with specific focus on automating processes in order to improve overall productivity and efficiency
. Assist in the collection and documentation of business, technical, creative and functional requirements based on interviews with business stakeholders
. Collaboratively develop and implement strategic recommendations that maximize data warehouse website
Preferred:
. MBA/MSc/PhD in relevant field
. Experience on banking industry data models, including IBM BDW, TeraData or other industry reference data model is a plus
. Familiarity with other BI and analytical tools/platforms, including Microsoft SQL Reporting, SAP/BO/Crystal Reporting, SAS, Hyperion Essbase
. Knowledge/understanding of business/banking environment and consumer/commercial lending is a plus.
. Knowledge of mainframe applications (ONS, FOCUS, HOGAN, QMFP, TSYS, ALS, TCL)
